Taking care of our presence, is certainly appreciated by our partner… yet it’s about honoring YOU. It says “I care about me and thus I’ll have the capacity to care about you.” It says that you are able to prioritize your life in a way that nourishes, celebrates and honors yourself… breeding self-respect, sex appeal and vibrant energy with which, to embrace life.
Sure, there are days when no one sees me. I have these yummy pink cashmere lounge wear pants and sweater… they are luxurious for a Sunday, yet I make a point to get dressed for work… even though I work at home. It’s my morning ritual of expressing my fashion style, of being funky or classy, sexy or saucy, sophisticated or sultry… whatever my mood… and it’s how I listen to my truth, how I allow my authentic expression to shine, and this ripples through my day.
I may be the only mom that works out during my son’s baseball practice, yet it’s how I make time to stay in shape. I love how I FEEL when my jeans fit, when I have strength to rough house with my son. I also love looking in the closet excited about what to wear instead of thinking I can’t fit into anything. I love how taking care of me gives me confidence to take new risks, make that phone call, make that proposal, say No when I mean it.
In fact taking care of me in body mind and spirit makes me a better receiver… I know my worth, I celebrate my uniqueness, I know when I need a good cry, a hot bath or to bed early as well. Self-care truly is self-love. And when you’re partner sees you feeling great, looking great, not only will it turn them on physically, it will awaken in them the same self-love and respect you are embodying.
If for some reason it doesn’t, they are simply triggered by your willingness to put yourself first. Don’t judge them if they tease you or try to bring you back to your old level. Instead, with a tempting coy sexy smile, invite them to the world of self-care, self-love… no need to resist them or use it as an excuse to give up on you… sometimes people take a while to catch on. The main thing is YOU are on your game and give them non-judgmental space to join you in the possibilities. If you need getting through the fire so that these new habits stick and your relationship is stronger than ever, give a call and let my coaching support you to create lasting delicious change.
