Question: My boyfriend and I have been together for awhile and things have been going great. Recently, he was promoted! Problem is – he is now my boss! We have kept our relationship on the down low to keep from being a part of office gossip/chatter but if it comes out now – it will look terrible!

Answer: What are the chances of that happening! It is interesting that your partner has now become your boss – shifting the concept of being equal to a role of superior and inferior. This can create a lot of emotions and uncertainty. The first thing to ask – are their any career consequences from your relationship? If not, let it unfold and see what happens. If so, you may want to discuss the consequences of continuing your relationship within the same company.
