Allana Pratt, Intimacy Expert - Boyfriend Was Rude To Disabled Brother

Q: For about a year, I have been dating (what I thought) was a wonderful man.  I am very protective of my disabled brother so I am hesitant to introduce men in my life to him.  This guy was different so I wanted him to understand that if he was going to be a part of my life, he was going to be a part of my brother’s as well. The way he acted towards him was atrocious! He ignored him and if my brother made contact, he jumped as if my brother’s disability would rub off on him!  I thought he was the one but now I am not sure.  Thoughts? A: I’m so sorry love.  This experience must trouble your heart in two ways – how he treated your brother and disappointment for believing he was the one.  While I do not condone his behavior, I must say that people have a tendency to act unpredictable and/or unkind when they are around people who are different from them.  Through education and practice, people can change.  Would you be open to communicating with your boyfriend, without judgment?  Sittin

Allana Pratt, Intimacy Expert - Had The Strangest Dream

Question: I had the strangest dream last night with my husband, an ex-boyfriend from college, and my ex-fiance. In my dream – my ex-fiance still hasn’t forgiven me and I was taking care of my ex-boyfriend and even said “boyfriend” at one point before correcting myself. What does all of this mean? Answer: What a curious dream indeed! On my radio show called Intimate Conversations Live, I’ve had a repeat guest named Kelly Sullivan Walden who is a dream coach and has a wonderful book called “I had the strangest dream.” First, I would recommend getting that book and having it by your bed so first thing when you wake up you can always use it to guide you. What Kelly has taught me is that every aspect of our dream is an aspect of ourselves. And that the emotional tone of a dream speaks volumes to the growth and healing that’s going on in your subconscious. I wonder if you’ve forgiven yourself in entirety about your ex fiancé and if not, if it’s in the way of you being more fully present

bosanchez - The Bias of Fathers

One day, I was at a Christmas party. And parents were forcing their small kids to sing, bribing them with lollipops to banana splits to doll houses to Boracay vacations. One father — a friend of mine whose name I won’t divulge as it would be hazardous to my health — brought his little five-year-old daughter to the front. Because he even had a Minus One prepared, we thought, “She must really be a good singer.” So everyone clapped their hands and cheered as the music started. Then the five-year-old began to sing. Or at least made some kind of sharp noise.  But she didn’t get one key right. The cute little girl was absolutely tone deaf. From beginning to end, she sounded so awful, the experience was similar to having an endoscopy without the anesthesia. But the father was right beside me, still taking photos, still smiling from ear to ear, his eyes glued to his little daughter. He looked at me and smiled, “She may not sound right, but can you see how lovely she sways her hips?” Th

[Summer Sale Live] The Importance of Taking Time for Yourself to Try Something New - Brian Tracy

When you’re on the path to achieving your goals, it’s easy to become laser-focused on the end-result. However, it’s important to remember to take mental and physical breaks as you progress towards success. Finding goal-life balance is equally, if not more important than finding work-life balance : you need to take some time to re-energize and reset in order to create your best self. Regular relaxation is essential for a long life and personal effectiveness. Try to take a mini-vacation every few months, and during that time, refrain from doing any work. Instead, try something new. Regardless of the goal you’re aiming to achieve, respite can do wonders for your motivation levels. For example, are you on the path to improving your personal well-being? Perhaps to become more capable, confident, positive? I’m having a Summer Sale on some of my best products until the end of the month to help you on your journey to success. I have personally created 5 bundled packages for you to choos

Allana Pratt, Intimacy Expert - My sister and I couldn’t be any more different if we tried.

Question: My sister and I couldn’t be any more different if we tried. It was never a big deal until we both became mothers. She had her son first and now that mine is about 3 (her son is 5) – she feels the need to critique my methods of parenting. I don’t know if she is just trying to be the wiser older sister and believes she knows best because her son is older than mine but I think she is a terrible mom. I look at her son and pity the victim he will be when he gets older because she shelters him from everything. Is there a way to tell her thanks but keep your opinions to yourself? Answer: I totally hear you and in fact as I’ve become older the difference between me and my sister is becoming more and more apparent as well. Whether or not your sister knows best, it’s never appropriate to give unsolicited advice and yet, unfortunately, people do it all the time. I know you know this, but it comes from a place of insecurity and a need to be right and in control and superior… Not from

Allana Pratt, Intimacy Expert - Stuck In The Middle

Question: I don’t want to be in the middle of this! My boyfriend’s mother is sick and he wants to move back home to be closer to her. His mother HATES me and he wants me to go with him. The doctor’s are saying the outlook is not positive and I want him to be there for his mother but I don’t think I am a big enough person to put our issues aside to endure her. Am I horrible? Answer: Yes, you are a horrible horrible person and you’re going to hell. KIDDING!!!!!! You are magnificent and courageous and willing to tell the truth… and I find that inspiring I think it’s very important for people to be given the option to spend time with their parents as they die because sometimes people die suddenly and you never get a chance to say something; yet, your boyfriend will be able to feel good about the time, effort, and presence he gives her. And it’s also very important for you not to stop living or choose something that’s not a contribution for you and sacrifice yourself for another only t

bosanchez - Just Do It a Little Bit Differently

I love the story of Peter’s failed fishing expedition. One day, he told Jesus, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing.” In fact, they’ve been fishing the whole night and couldn’t even catch a skinny shrimp. But Jesus told him, “Lower down your nets one more time. But lower it at the deeper part of the sea.” In my language, Jesus was saying, “Don’t give up. Hustle.” And when he did as Jesus told him, Peter received abundance.  He caught so much fish, the Bible says their nets began to break and their boats almost sank at the weight of the fish (Luke 5:5-7). Friends, if you want a blessing from God, you don’t give up. You do whatever it takes to get it.  Do what you have to do one more time, but do it in different way. Go deeper. Go higher.  Go lower.  Just do it. You know what our problem is? When we fail, we automatically think we’re losers. No, we’re not. You can never be a loser because you come from God. Because of that fact, you’re a champion. Always!
