Eva Jannotta - ‘The Myopic Business Epidemic’ — Glambition Radio Episode 175 with Ali Brown

I’m doing a bit of a RANT along with some educated observations on this solo episode of #GlambitionRadio, and the subject is the epidemic of *myopic* business owners. ‘Myopic’ basically means being nearsighted, lacking foresight, or lacking insight.

Especially within the current online madness, I still see too much ‘following the leader’ and not enough critical thinking. In many cases I’m seeing a lack of even ‘common sense’ thinking.

I see entrepreneurs who consider themselves ‘innovative’ locked into only improving the models that have worked in the past. They don’t even want to test new methods. And when problems arise, they simply work the model harder. It’s akin to digging a deeper and deeper hole they can’t emerge from.

(This is especially evident with those who have simply learned one model of selling something online – for example, the Facebook ads to a free call and then enrolling prospects into some type of service or program. On the show I discuss how yes, this formula works well for some, or for awhile, but there will be a day when something in the formula stops working. And what do they get stuck doing? Listen and learn.)

And here’s where we think and say we are ‘innovators’ but we are not. A recent blog post by Seth Godin got me thinking about this recently.

Unless you are continually trying things that are technically UNPROVEN, you are not innovating.

I’ll give some great examples of women business leaders I admire, including my friend Kara Goldin of Hint Water and shoe designer Tamara Mellon, who are doing business very differently than others in their industries.

And I also give several examples from three of my own 7+8-figure clients — Kelly Roach, Amanda Tress, and Michelle Bosch – these gals are smart because even when business is doing extremely well (all of them do multiple millions per year), they are CONTINUALLY looking ahead and testing new waters.

(Ladies: THIS is what separates the real BOSS leaders from the ‘girl bosses’.)

Head to Apple Podcasts and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download it for later). This is one you don’t want to miss!

>>> And, to help you break out of the pack… and THINK and DO differently, I created my private #ICONICwithAliBrown event, happening November 5+6 this fall in Phoenix.

We have only a handful of seats left, and I’m looking for a few more powerful women leaders to round out our already incredible group. (Current average revenues per attendee in the room are approximately $1.2M.)

Please note this is an advanced workshop for women entrepreneurs with minimum qualifications to attend. Have a look at IconicWithAliBrown.com, and if it’s not a good fit for you, please pass this on to a high performing female entrepreneur you know.

And come join in our conversations on Instagram at www.instagram.com/alibrownofficial or Facebook at www.facebook.com/alibrownfan.

Xo,

Ali

Allana Pratt, Intimacy Expert - My boyfriend’s messaging strange women

Question: Do you have any idea why a man would start instant messaging strange woman after being in a five year relationship. Said he was “stupid” and wasn’t physical with anybody. I guess you can say I have trust issues. Answers: Ouch! I am so sorry. Do I have any idea why? Here is what I have learned, first off I am really sorry because that really hurts. If you have trust issues especially, that would hurt and sting even more. So first something about trust and then something about men. Trust: When we trust, it’s not that we trust someone to be perfect. That sets us up for failure because no one is perfect and you can’t control anybody. That is insanity if we try to control another and put all of our power – making sure they be a certain way to so that we are safe. Instead, find that safety and trust inside you. That safety being that capacity to discern and know that come what may, you’ve got your own back – you can take care of yourself. It takes a lot of pressure off of other...

How to Set Priorities Using the ABCDE Method - Brian Tracy

The more thought you invest into setting priorities before you begin a task, the faster you will get the important things done. The more important and valuable the task is to you, the more motivated you are to overcome procrastination and launch yourself into the job. William Matthews said,  “The first law of success is concentration – to bend all the energies to one point, and to go directly to that point, looking neither to the right or to the left.” Today, I want to share a method of time-management for setting priorities that I’ve been using for years, called the ABCDE method. FREE TIME MANAGEMENT TOOL: Download the ABCDE Checklist PDF The ABCDE Method The ABCDE Method is a powerful priority setting technique that you can use every single day. This technique is so simple and effective that it can make you one of the most efficient and effective people in your field. The ABCDE list is a to-do list on steroids when it comes to learning how to prioritize . The power of t...

Eva Jannotta - Kelly Roach, Business Growth Coach — Glambition Radio Episode 168 with Ali Brown

‘Nothing is worth this.’ That’s how my client Kelly Roach describes the moment she knew the madness had to stop.
