It’s finally happened. She said it. You are still trying to wrap your head around it. What does it mean? Why did she say it? Does she really need it…”space”. Things were going great, this is completely out of nowhere, or is it?

When seeking answers to the dreaded space request, it is important to look at what lead up to that point. What changed in your life, her life? Did you tell her something that may have caught her off guard (you have child, you lost your job, etc)? Did something life altering happen with her that may cause her to want to take a moment and re-evaluate her priorities? If everything is the same then the next question to ask is, what is she trying to avoid?
